http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underworld:_Rise_of_the_Lycans
Personality:
: Sonja is extremely headstrong and rebellious, although she manages to curb her will sometimes to keep up appearances with her father. Her sole weakness is the love she carries for Lucian and this more than anything has influenced her views of the Lycans. She tries to retain some level of coldness towards them around the other vampire nobles but the truth is not so easily hidden.

She protects those under her guard and even defends Lucian after he saves her life by removing his collar. She's an unwilling member of the council and avoids her duties most of the time, preferring to ride with the Death Dealers and fight to the world of politics. Her emotions rule her far more readily than her head and this is most clear towards the end. She made a bid for her life and Lucian's by trying to play on her father's heart, only to find out he had none.

Sonja displays a naivete about her father's cruel nature in the aforementioned moment as well as at other points during the series, which demonstrates how much of her own humanity she seems to retain. She risks much because of her love for Lucian and this is her own undoing. Her true nature is almost impossible to hide under the responses and actions her father expects and she betrays her attachments far too easily when questioned.

Journal Post Sample:
Until I met him, my father was the center of my world and I wanted nothing more than to please him. Now my loyalties are divided and I fear things will never be fixed between myself and him, although I could live with that more easily than a life without my heart. I was never aware of the cage before he showed me the bars holding me in and offered me a freedom I had never experienced.

Third-Person Sample Post:
Sonja stared up at the ceiling of her room. When Lucian had escaped, she'd been happy knowing he'd gained the freedom he sought from her father, but it had faded upon her father finding out the truth about their relationship. Her love for Lucian was the only thing she had left to put any faith in. She moved to stand, quietly crossing the room to the door. Two guards outside and she had no other way of leaving.

The first time she'd seen Lucian, she'd been startled by his appearance, but as she matured, the reaction had changed. He was a man unlike any of the others she'd known and that drew her to him. Their relationship had been an unplanned development but she couldn't imagine her life without him now. Her life had become a struggle between her own needs and what her father expected of her. She'd become restless under his attempts to control her and regularly defied him. The council had never interested her the way he'd wanted it to, she much preferred being out on horseback and fighting. It made her feel more alive to do that.

Her footsteps were almost silent as she crossed to the window, fingers pressing against the glass lightly. She'd managed to keep one secret from her father and her expression hardened briefly. That piece of information was something she had no plans of revealing unless she had no other recourse. She wasn't completely sure but it was worth a chance, if there was no other way. Her fingers slid down the glass and she turned away, her eyes flashing briefly as she caught a noise in the hall.

She'd taken two steps towards the doors, sword in hand, when they slammed open and her eyes locked on Lucian. A moment later and she was in his arms before they were moving, heading for the secret tunnels they used for previous meetings. She'd almost thought they'd succeeded until the first fire started.
